Usain Bolt, the fastest man on the planet, has become a ‘legend’ after clinching gold in the 200m in London 2012, saying ‘I’m now a legend. I am the greatest athlete to live’.
Commenting on his lightening run in 100m win earlier in the summer games, he said that he would not be a “legend” until he had also won the 200m.
Usain Bolt won 200m in 19.32 seconds, becoming first man to defend both 100-metre and 200-metre Olympic titles.
“The 200m was harder than I expected. I could feel the pressure coming off the bend and that’s when I had to focus,” the fastest man on the planet said.
Bolt was pushed all the way by teammate and training partner Yohan Blake, who finished second in 19.44sec, while a third Jamaican, Warren Weir, took the bronze in 19.84sec.
