US to accept more15,000 refugees each year
Sept.21, New York: United States have declared it will increase the number of refugees intake by 15,000 every year.
US foreign Secretary John Kerry said that US would accept 85,000 refugees this year and would increase 15,0000 refugees bringing the total number to 100,000 by 2017.
The US will accept 85,000 refugees from around the world next year, up from 70,000, Kerry said at a news conference on Sunday. The additional refugees would be Syrian, American officials have said. Others would come from strife-torn areas of Africa.
Kerry's announcement comes ahead of a September 23 emergency summit meeting of European Union leaders to address the refugee crisis.
