US air strike hits IS oil trucks in Syria
Nov 24, Abuja: The fuel truck controlled by Islamic State (IS) militants in north-east Syria has been hit by a US air strike. At least 238 fuel trucks were destroyed in the strike.
The trucks were parked to be loaded at oil production point in near al-Hasakah and Dayr Az Zawr. The US military statement says that the warning shots were fired to scare away the civilian drivers, before the destruction of the trucks began.
IS makes large amounts of money from oil it produces from seized facilities.
The US Department of Defense says it will release video of the air raid, which took place over the weekend.
