Turkey shells Kurdish-backed fighters in northern Syria for second day
Feb 14, Ankara: The Turkish government has said that its army has shelled positions held by Kurdish-backed fighters in northern Syria for a second day.
A UK-based monitoring group also reported the shelling, saying that two fighters died in the incident.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that Turkey on Saturday demanded the Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) fighters withdraw from areas that it captured in the northern Aleppo region in recent days.
The shelling has targeted an airbase and other positions captured by the Kurdish-backed forces in Syria.
