Turkey releases audio recording claiming to be warning issued
Nov 26, Oslo: Turkish military has released an audio recording claiming it to be the warning issued to Russian fighter plane before gunning down.
Russia-Turkey relations have turned sour after Turkey brought down a Russian fighter plane SU-24 on the Syrian border. "Change your heading south immediately," a voice is head saying in English.
Turkey, who said they were trying to rescue both the pilots in the SU-25 plane, had claimed that they warned the pilots six times before gunning down. Rescued pilot captain Konstantin Murakhtin had told Russian television that the Turkish had issued no warning.
Murakhtin was rescued by Russian and Syrian commando early on Wednesday after a 12-hour operation. It is not clear what happened to the body of his co-pilot, who was killed by gunfire as he parachuted from the burning plane, media reports said.
