Triple suicide blast kills 15 in Lake Chad
Dec 5, OSLO: At least 15 people have been killed and 130 injured in a series of suicide bombing in Lake Chad, media reports said.
On a busy market day, the attacks were carried out on the island of Koulfoua on the Chadian side of Lake Chad, security officials said. "The provisional death toll is 19 dead, including the four kamikazes, and 130 injured," said state TV.
It was earlier said that 27 people killed and 80 injured in the blast carried out by four female attackers. Two of the blasts rang out from the centre of the market and a third in the street as people fled, security sources said.
No one has yet claimed responsibility for the blasts but notorious armed group Boko Haram from neighbouring Nigeria are said to be behind it.
