Sweden gives life sentences to two men for terror crimes
Dec 14, Helsinki: A Swedish court has convicted two Swedish men of terror crimes and handed them life sentences for their connection with killings in Syria in 2013.
The Goteborg District Court said that the men, 32-year-old Hassan Mostafa al-Mandlawi and 30-year-old Sultan al-Amin, were involved in the killings despite their denials of being at the scene when they occurred.
The court said on Monday that photographs and video found during a home search proves their involvement in two killings at an industrial area north of Aleppo in between April 12 and May 2, 2013.
The accused denied involvement and said they would appeal. A life sentence in Sweden generally means a minimum of 20-25 years in prison.
