Suicide bombing kills 12 Afghan police recruits near Jalalabad
April 11, Kabul: At least 12 people have been killed and dozens wounded on Monday when a suicide bomber attacked targeting police recruits in eastern Afghanistan.
Officials have said that the the blast happened in the Sorkhrot district of Nangarhar province.
Ahsanullah Shinwari, head of the Jalalabad hospital, said on Monday that all 12 bodies were brought to the hospital in the city, 125 kilometers from Kabul.
Officials said the rest of the 38 wounded were in critical condition.
The recruits were travelling to the capital Kabul when the bus was hit by a remote-control device in a motorbike, a local official told the BBC.
Other reports suggested a suicide bomber had rammed the bus on the motorbike.
Taliban militants have previously targeted officials in Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar.
