Russian-made missile downed Malaysian MH17: Report
Oct.13, London: Dutch Safety Board said on Tuesday that the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was hit and downed by a Russian-made surface-to-air BUK missile over eastern Ukraine in 2014.
Relatives of some of the 298 people including 80 children who died on the Airlines have been briefed on a report. The report finds the plane was hit by a Russian-made Buk missile, BBC news reported. Relatives said that the victims would have lost consciousness almost immediately.
The West and Ukraine said that Russian-backed rebels brought down the Boeing 777. But Russia claims a missile was fired from Ukrainian-controlled territory.
The report will not apportion blame.
The plane - flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur - crashed in rebel-held eastern Ukraine on 17 July 2014 at the height of the conflict between government troops and the pro-Russian separatists.
