Punjab government releases hunger-striker Bapu Ji

Dec 2, Punjab: Bapu Surat Singh Ji (Bapu Ji) has been released by Punjab government on Tuesday after keeping him detained for more than a month at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH). He was allowed to return to his home in Hassanpur, Punjab.

This past week, Bapu Ji had undergone numerous health complications due to DMCH's force feeding and incompatible treatment. He had experienced an accumulation of liquid in his lungs, abdomen, and joints and shortness of breath. As a result, his health had considerably deteriorated and the hospital had to cease its force feeding and treatment.

Bapu Ji is now at home in Hassanpur and continues his struggle, remaining resolute in his resolve to free political prisoners in India.
