Pakistan: Police guarding a polio centre Quetta bombed, at least 14 killed and 20 injured
Jan 13, Islamabad: Over 15 people were killed in a bomb blast targeting police outside a polio vaccination centre in the southwestern city of Quetta on Wednesday.
According to authorities, the Police officers had gathered outside the centre to guard the health workers on the third day of their vaccination campaign in Balochistan. “There are 15 dead, including 12 police, one paramilitary, and two civilians,” a local police official was quoted telling AFP, similarly, local media reports state that nearly10 people have been wounded, including nine police officers and one civilian.
“We are living in a war zone and I can’t say anything about the nature of the blast,” Sarfaraz Bugti, Balochistan home minister, said. He slo informed that they were investigating the blast and no one has so far taken responsibility for the attacks.
