Nigeria:Pregnant woman and two health officials die of Lassa fever

March 1, Kaduna: Kaduna state government has just confirmed that three people a pregnant woman, Doctor and a nurse who lost their lives to Lassa fever in southern part of the state North West part of the country.
Oslo Times gathered that the incidence occurred in Zonkwa of Zongon Kataf Local Government Area of the state.
Kaduna State Commissioner for Health, Professor Andrew Nok confirmed the report.
He explained that the nurse and medical doctor contracted the disease after administering medication on the pregnant woman at Saint Loius Hospital, Zonkwa in Zangon Kataf Local government area of the state.
The confirmation by the state government came days after it was rumored that a medical doctor and a nurse had lost their lives to the disease.
The state government months back said measured have been taken to tackle any outbreak of the disease in the state.
It could be recalled that many lives have been lost so far from the diseases accross the country as authorities, particularly Federal ministry of Health said they are doing everything possible to curtail the outbreak of the diseases to state that have not yet recorded an outbreak.
