Nigeria: Kaduna authorities to partner Global Peace Foundation on Peace building
(Kaduna)..October 12, 2016 Kaduna State Director General Bureau for Religious Affairs, Engineer Namadi Musa has expressed the state governments willingness and readiness to partner Global Peace Foundation Nigeria on peace building in the state.
He explained that the state government is ever ready to partner any group of people that work for peace and development of the state.
The Director who spoke during train the trainers workshop organized by Global Peace Foundation Nigeria in Kaduna Northwest part of the country said the essence of good governance globally is protection of lives and properthy of the people.
" Without peace there would be no development and we are ready to partner anybody that works for peace. We feel there should be a kind of synergy between us in government and peace group like yours who are working for peace of the state and country in general.
" Many are times politicians are responsible, for division among the people of different faiths. But I think as humans we must know that God didn't create us to be fighting each other. Therefore, Global peace foundation is an essential tool for good governance and we are ever ready to partner you on your activities," he said.
The Country Director Global Peace Foundation Nigeria, John Oko said peace remains the bedrock of any societal development hence, GPFN’s resolve to champion the cause through reminding the public that they belong to One Family Under God.
He pointed out that Global Peace is working with different people from all works of life and challenged the participants to put in their best and take ownership of the program for maximum result.“We will soon scale up this campaign to more communities within Kaduna State and the Northern Nigeria so as to create a paradigm shift in the way we are living with our neighbours.”
Earlier, Global Peace Foundation Nigeria Co-cordinator Northern Nigeria, Reverend Joseph Hayeb said GPFN is building a global network of grassroots leaders to develop community, national, and regional peace-building models as the foundation for ethical, cohesive and compassionate societies guided by the vission of one Family under God.
Also, Co-cordinator GPFN Northern Nigeria, Shaikh Halliru Maraya attributed most of the religious crisis witnessed in the state to selfishness and ignorance on the part of the people.
He explained that there should be no discrimination between muslims and Christians in the state because both are children of Adam and Eve.
