Nigeria: 60 African countries to attend ECOWAS exhibition in October

Abjuja, 16 August: SIXTY companies from West Africa including China, Ukraine, Iran, South Korea, France, South Africa, Kenya, Rice Farmers Association, Federation of Cooperative Farmers of Nigeria, Agro-Input Dealers Association amongst others are slated to participate in the forthcoming Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Agriculture, Agro-Allied and Technology Exhibition in October this year.
President Muhammadu Buhari was slated to grace and declare the Exhibition open in Kaduna northwest part of the country.
Speaking to newsmen in Kaduna ahead of the exhibition, Chairman of the exhibition, Alhaji Bawa Garba (ABG) said they are expecting companies from Brazil and Isreal too.
The theme of the exhibition is "Agriculture Production and Processing For Self Sufficiency, Poverty Eradication and Economic Development".
"In addition to the theme, an agricultural business round table discussion is planned on "Nigeria Agricultural Policy: Problems and Prospects" where policy makers, agriculturists and stakeholders shall discuss the topic with a view to identifying missing links and advise the government accordingly.
"We have taken the aspect of security into consideration and with the kind of leadership we have in the country today, as President Muhammadu Buhari is going to declare the exhibition open, we are assured of adequate security and the foreign companies going to participate are already convinced of their security."
