Manila: Gulf Air flight makes emergency landing after smoke
Aug.5, Manila: Gulf Air flight carrying 319 people to Bahrain made an emergency landing in the Philippines, returning there after smoke appeared in the cabin, airport officials and passengers said.
According to Manila airport authorities, Flight 155 with 307 passengers and 12 crew members landed safely 29 minutes after take-off Friday. No injuries have been reported.
A passenger told DZBB radio he saw smoke in the cabin and the air conditioning was off when they were told the plane had to turn back due to technical problems.
Gulf Air officers were attending to the incident and the airline could not yet release details, an airline employee said .
The airport media office said that the airline canceled the flight and booked accommodation for affected passengers.
