Italy: Police issue 17 arrest warrants in terrorism blitz
June 12, Rome: Police in Italy said that they have issued 17 arrest warrants for Iraqi Kurds on terrorism-related charges in a Europe-wide blitz, local media reported.
Carabinieri Gen. Giuseppe Governale told RAI state radio on Thursday that the operation involved investigations in Britain, Norway, Finland, Germany and Switzerland.
According to the ANSA news agency said the suspects are accused of international terrorism association. A news conference was planned for later in the morning with Italy's top anti-terrorism officials.
