Israeli forces kill Palestinian boy near Ramallah city
Oct.12, Jerusalem: A 13-year-old Palestinian boy has been shot dead by Israeli forces during clashes at a checkpoint near Ramallah city on Sunday.
Heavy clashes took place in cities and villages across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, following weeks of protests sparked by tensions over the al-Aqsa Mosque compound, Al Jazeera reported.
Ahmad Sharaka was shot and killed when Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinian demonstrators outside Beit El, a Jewish-only settlement near Ramallah.
An official at Ramallah Hospital where Sharaka was taken said that the boy had a wound from a live bullet in the neck when he arrived at the emergency room. Unfortunately his wounds were so severe that he could not make it and he died despite all of the medical procedures, the official said.
Israeli forces have killed at least 24 Palestinians since October 3 as unrest engulfs much of the West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem.
According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, at least 332 Palestinians were injured during clashes with Israeli forces on Sunday.
