Iran joins international crisis talks on Syria
Oct.30, Abuja: United States, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Iran are meeting on Friday for political settlement to end the Syrian war. The talks will be held in Vienna with the major backers of Syria warring rivals. Iran is attending such meeting on Syria for the first time.
The meeting will also be attended by the representative from Britain, Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, Lebanon, the European Union, and possibly other Arab states.
Experts consider this to be a good as Syrian crisis cannot be won by military. But the meeting does not have presence of Syrian opposition, which needs to be incorporated.
The meeting's major thrust is to remove the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group.
