Impunity :A year since th death of Bangladeshi blogger Avijit Roy, culprits still running free
Feb 26,Dhaka: Today on 26.02.2016 is the solemnly marks one year anniversary for the brutal murder of Avijit Roy. He was secular blog writer. When he and his wife Rafida Bonya Ahmed are coming from Dhaka book fair, the attackers wielding machetes and killed Avijit. Anyhow, his wife has survived from the attacked but was critically injured.
The FBI and Bangladeshi government have been investigating this crime and trying to bring the perpetrators to the justice. Prof Ajoy Roy, father of Avijit Roy, claimed today that he is worried in regards to the Avijit case but hopes that the short the attackers will be arrested soon.
Last year, along with Dr. Roy four bloggers and Publishers like Washiqur Rahman Babu, Ananta Bijoy das, Niloy Chatterjee and Arefin Faisal Dipon has been killed. In Bangladesh, the Bloggers and Hindu priest have been targeted by the extremists because of their secularism, free thinking and religious belief.
Few days back a Hindu priest has been killed brutally and each and every day they affected today the three people are arrested in this connection. The government of Bangladesh should try to reduce this communal tension and try to protect the free thinkers, secularist from the target of killing for the advocates of democracy. In the last couple of years in Bangladesh has increased discrimination, harassment, intimidation, raped and demolished Mondir and deities against minorities.
