Hunger-striker Bapu Ji's health shows improvement

Nov 26, Punjab: The Punjab government continues to incarcerate the 82 year-old human rights campaigner at the hospital which has accounted for numerous health complications.

While excessive force feeding and the administration of incompatible liquid supplements by Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) staff had led to liquid retention and swelling as well as probable kidney failure, it is being reported that his condition has now stabilized.

While Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa is still weak physically, his son, Ravinderjeet Singh, states Bapu Ji's spirit and outlook is positive. He remains firm in his resolve to free Sikh political prisoners in India that are being detained in prison past their given sentences.
