Human traffickers face charges
July 24, Dhaka: At least 72 migrants from Myanmar and Bangladesh have been charged of human trafficking in Thailand. Among the accused are politicians and an army general. They are charged with human trafficking, transnational crime network and bringing illegal migrants to Thailand.
The attorney general’s office said that further 30 arrest warrants have been issued. The arrests were made following the investigation of discovery of mass graves, which is believed to contain bodies of refugees near the Thai-Malaysian border in May.
The accused are mostly from Thailand along with citizens from Myanmar and Bangladesh.
