Firebomb kills 16 at Cairo restaurent
Dec 4, Cairo: At least 16 people including five women were killed in a firebomb attack on a restaurent in the Egyptian capital Cairo on Friday. Other three people were injured in the attack.
The attack happened after an argument broke out between employees and revellers seeking to enter in the Agouza area, city centre.
Egypt's interior ministry said that it appeared to have followed a row between workers and others at the venue, which also housed a nightclub.
Media reports said that three masked men threw the devices into the venue before fleeing.
The restaurant was in the basement of the building, making it harder for people to escape, news reports said.
A security official told Reuters news agency that the perpetrator was an employee who had been fired from the nightclub. The official initially said that 18 people had died.
