Facebook to launch satellite
Oct.6, New York: The social network site founder Mark Zucerberg has announced that Facebook is soon to launch satellite that will provide access to internet in remote parts of Africa. The first satellite will be launched in 2016 in partnership with French-based provider Eutelsat.
The project is part of Facebook's Internet.org project, which has come under fierce criticism in some countries.
Internet.org is experimenting with different ways of providing internet to hard-to-reach places.
