Denmark: Food culture must be part of the municipal institutions
Jan 19, Copenhagen: A majority of the City Council in Randers Municipality has agreed that the Danish food culture must be part of the municipal institutions.
A proposal by the Danish People's Party (DPP) has been adopted in Randers City Council. At least 16 voted in favor, while 15 were against the agreement.
All ensured a healthy and balanced diet, where no one is forced to eat anything that is contrary to one's attitude or religion, said in the proposal.
It was Frank Nørgaard from the Danish People's Party, who was the man behind the proposal. Along with the Liberals had a majority, media report said.
The debate ran high, and all met councilors were several times the word.
