Clearing efforts begin in Eastern US after mammoth weekend snowstorm
Jan 25, Washington DC: People across the east coast of the US are clearing up after the mammoth weekend snowstorm that left the entire region paralyzed over the weekend.According to local reports, people have started digging their cars out of the 3ft snow and clearing the roads after the snow had subsided in five states in the region.
Millions of people had been locked up inside their homes after a state of emergency had been called on Friday. At least 29 deaths have been reported since then reports of car accidents started, also as a result of the car accidents, cases of carbon monoxide poisoning have been reported. Hospitals have also reported cases of heart attacks suffered while shovelling snow
They have been digging out their cars and clearing pathways of snow which reached 3ft (91cm) in five states.
Public transport remains disrupted as the working week is set to begin. And flights in the region remain closed.
Similarly, government buildings and schools will remain closed on Monday.
