Australian exchange student falls to her death from Norway tourist spot

Sept.8, Oslo: An exchange student from Australia has fallen to her death from a spectacular Norway cliff popular with photographers.

Kristi Kafcaloudis was posing for a photo at Trolltunga or "troll's tongue" on Saturday when she fell hundreds of metres, local media said. She was 24.

Kafcaloudis started studying at the University of Bergen, in Norway, last month.

Thousands of tourists visit the cliff annually but has no safety rail.

The university in a statement said that it had been notified by police on Sunday morning of the young woman's death in Western Norway.

The Australian government on Tuesday said it was providing assistance to her family.
