Over 100 people injured and several killed in train collision in Southern Germany: police
Feb 9, Berlin: Approximately 100 have been injured and several killed in a train crash in southern Germany, according to local reports.
According to the police,one of the trains had derailed and several carriages overturned, in the head on collision, early Tuesday morning.
The Police in Upper Bavaria stated that eight rescue helicopters were standing on a lawn near the entrance to the town of Bad Aibling and rescue staff were on the way to the scene of the crash.
Regional police in Germany said in a tweet that eight people were dead and about 100 injured, of whom 50 were seriously hurt.
The drivers of both trains and two train guards were among those killed, regional broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk said, quoting police.
